Antique Music Cabinet
This beautiful cabinet was painted red when I bought it. I originally planned to strip the paint off and return the cabinet to wood finish. Sadly, after removing at least 5 layers of paint, I realized the wood was in no condition to stain. But, all that work was worth it. It revealed all of the beautiful details (especially the ornate legs) that had been dulled with so many layers of paint. I choose this rich shade of blue and used dark wax over it to give it an aged appearance. It resides in my home and is one of my favorite projects to date.
Decoupage Waterfall Dresser
This unique, solid wood dresser was updated with milk paint in the color Persian Blue by General Finishes. The gorgeous wood inlays were refinished in dark walnut and brass knobs were added. The doors were decoupaged with handmade paper from Serrv International. This beauty was awarded a runner up prize in the General Finishes Design Competition in the decoupage category.
"Hamilton" Desk
Stately yet still delicate, this Federalist style desk features long legs, ample original wood, and loads of character.
"Black Beauty" Buffet
This stunning cherry buffet has been artfully updated using stately black on the body and a refinished dark wood stained top. Original brass hardware has been refreshed with a muted gold finish. Interior top drawer feature coordinating paisley fabric.
Walnut Dresser
The dresser originally belonged to my clients Grandmother. It was stripped to bare wood. Veneer was repaired in multiple places on drawer fronts. Finish was completely removed and the dresser was refinished using General Finishes gel stain in antique walnut and sealed using arm-r-seal.
"Greta" Vintage Dresser
This beautiful four drawer dresser features a deep teal color called “Jitterbug” by Country Chic paint. Paint is aged slightly with dark wax. It has lovely lines, understated hardware and vivid wood details. Bold floral paper inside the drawers provided an unexpected colorful surprise.
Navy and Brass Dresser
This dapper mid-century piece is dressed up in its Sunday best. As soon as I spied this dresser, I knew what I wanted to do with it. The body features a rich navy blue in durable General Finishes Coastal Blue milk paint. Base is painted antique brass base with matching drawer hardware.
"Camilla" Desk
Pretty and functional solid wood desk painted with durable General Finishes Milk Paint in the color basil. Top was carefully stenciled in a unique pattern using a linen color, then lightly sanded to give a slightly worn appearance. Pretty ceramic floral knobs add a little additional whimsy to the seven wood drawers.
Farmhouse Writing Desk
This darling writer's desk features long curvy legs and subtle wood details. It is painted classic black with some of the original finish showing through and some light distressed areas. Turqoise knobs provide just a touch of color while adding to that farmhouse feel. And whimsical paper in the drawers is just the ticket to finish off the look.
"Pretty in Pink" Desk/Chair combo
This dainty desk and chair updated with ballet pink paint and gold accents is as functional as it is pretty.
Regal Desk
This regal looking, solid wood desk features a deep woodland green with brass handles and decorative accents. The original cherry finish bled through the green adding depth and aging to look. Top is original but was refinished in a medium walnut tone. The interior of the seven working drawers with dovetail joints were in pristine condition and simply required a bit of hemp oil to freshen them up.
"Matilda" Antique Dresser
Bright and cheery, Matilda makes a statement. Mustard yellow paint, dark glaze and some gentle distressing give this lovely antique dresser a bold, beautiful aged appearance.
Ornate Occasional Table
This gorgeous vintage table features incredible carved details. Antique white paint and antiquing wax create a subtle aged appearance and highlight the details of the base. The top was refinished using dark walnut stain and satin finish.
Petite Sideboard
This petite sideboard has some real old world charm. It features a gorgeous cherry wood top and interior. The body is painted in a deep custom green milk paint. Heavy distressing allows wood to peak through and highlight all the details that make this piece so special. Gorgeous appliqués adorn each side. Understated gold hardware gives it just a touch of shine. Roomy lower cabinet and two drawers make this piece as functional as it is pretty.
Elegant Carved Side Table
"Bella" Small Dresser
This adorably simple wooden dresser was painted using clay based paint in a custom grey and finished with clear and dark wax. The whimsical hardware on this dresser was my favorite part.
Chair with secret drawer
I fell in love with this little maple chair because of its unique hidden drawer. I refinished the back and drawer in a warm wood stain and then painted the rest with a rich teal color. The seat was reupholstered with a rich tapestry fabric that complements both the wood tone and the color.
Mid-Century Dresser
This beauty is from the Kent Coffey Debonaire series. It is solid wood (pecan) with a mahogany veneer on the drawers. The veneers on the top and sides had deep scratches that prevented me from refinishing it completely, so I painted the exterior shell and refinished the drawers and legs. The asymmetrical chevron detail adds a pop of color that is reminiscent of the time it was built.
Oak Dresser "Bertha"
This is Bertha. She is solid oak. She was my first project and I nearly gave up before finally settling on this buttery yellow finish contrasted with some of her beautiful exposed oak on the top and the top drawer fronts.
Bankers Desk
This beautiful old bankers desk was a Craigslist purchase without a purpose until my friend Bill saw it. Then, it became my first commissioned piece. (Thanks Bill!) The exterior shell was painted with a custom steel blue color and the top and drawer fronts were refinished in rich walnut stain. I think the addition of color and the new hardware give the piece a modern feel while still honoring the character of the desk.
Wooden Arm Chairs
These wooden arm chairs were given an update with paint and new upholstery.
